The British Museum - Great Russell Street, London WC1B 3DG, United Kingdom

We will begin at the British Museum for the 2-hour Grand Tour, followed by a brief stop before starting the walking tour.

The guide will accompany you walking from the Museum towards Trafalgar Square, and onwards towards Westminster. You will see various other famous London sights along the route.

The walking tour lasts about 90 - 120 minutes and covers a distance of approximately 1.5 miles.  The tour can be adapted to suit varying abilities.

The walking tour finishes at Westminster Pier where your boat journey will begin.

The boat journey lasts approximately 40 minutes and concludes at Tower Pier.  The boat ride fare is included in the tour booking cost.  Toilets and refreshments are available on board the boat.

Your guide can give you directions to continue your day from Tower Pier.

Please meet your guide 5-10 minutes before your tour start time at the Boy on the Horse Statue in the South East corner of the British Museum’s Great Court, near the information desk.

Visit this webpage for more information: https://www.bible-tours.co.uk/meeting-point.php
Your guide will be wearing a blue lanyard with a Bible Tours badge so you can easily identify them.

We strongly recommend that you pre-book a FREE admission ticket directly with the British Museum.  Click here to do so.

With this pre-booked admission ticket, you will be guaranteed entry and should enter through the main front entrance of the museum on Great Russell Street, WC1B 3DG.  This will significantly speed up the queues through security for you, but please still allow plenty of time.  The museum opens at 10am.

If you do not have a pre-booked admission ticket with the British Museum, you will be directed to the rear entrance on Montague Place WC1E 7JW, where there are often long queues and entry is not guaranteed.

You can find your guide's contact information included in your booking confirmation.  Please be sure that your mobile phone is working, so we can contact you if necessary.

At the end of the Walking Tour, your tour guide will accompany you to Westminster Pier for the start of your boat journey on the River Thames.

Before leaving you, your tour guide will ensure that you have boarded the boat and that you have any directions or additional information you need to continue your journey and/or other activities after leaving the boat at Tower Pier.

You may like to give your guide an optional tip (gratuity).

  • Smart but practical attire: There are no rules, but we ask everyone to maintain dignified Christian conduct by dressing in a modest and respectful manner. We realise that you may have a long journey to join us and that you also need to be dressed appropriately for the walk and boat ride that follow the museum.  Comfortable shoes, and appropriate seasonal wear for the time of year.
  • Bible: Your Bible will be invaluable during the museum tour - but remember that you need to carry it for the rest of the day, so bring a pocket bible or use the JW Library app on your smartphone.
  • Notepad and Pen: You may want to take your own notes as we go around the museum, either in a notepad or on your smartphone.  Of course this is optional.
  • Camera: Photography is permitted.  No video or audio recordings are allowed.  Tour material must not be published online or in any other format. You will definitely want your camera during your walking tour and boat ride.
  • Water: The museum can get very hot especially in the upper galleries, and walking around the city can be tiring, so make sure to stay hydrated.
  • Light snack/drink: You will have a brief opportunity to purchase a light snack between your museum tour and walking tour, but you may prefer to bring something with you to save time and money.
  • Travelcard/Oyster Card/Contactless card: We may use public transport during your tour, you will need to have either a Travelcard, an Oyster card or a contactless payment card or device.  London buses do not accept cash payment. Please see TfL website for more details.
  • Umbrella/Coat: We can't guarantee the British weather, so please come prepared for inclement weather, if forecast.
  • Bags: The British Museum does not allow any wheeled cases, sports equipment or large items of luggage on the premises.
  • Security: Please be alert to any unattended bags, or suspicious characters and sounds.  Take care in large queues or crowds.

If you choose to cancel your tour up to 72 hours before your tour begins, you are entitled to a full refund, or to reschedule your booking.

If you need to cancel or reschedule your tour less than 72 hours before it begins, or you are late or do not show up for the tour, Bible Tours will endeavour to reschedule the tour, or issue a partial refund. Please note it may not be possible to issue a refund or reschedule due to the fact that Bible Tours may have already paid for other services and expenses in relation to your tour.

Bible Tours reserves the right to cancel a tour if needed due to events or circumstances arising beyond our control. If Bible Tours cancel your tour at any point, you will be entitled to reschedule your booking, or a full refund.

If you would like a tour on a different day/time, or there is no space for your group, please place your request here and we will try to make arrangements.
